Reading Programme Volunteer

Helping children learn how to read and have a passion for reading.

United Way offers a Reading Oasis programme in Ranui, West-Auckland and Glenn Innes, Auckland for disadvantaged Children.

The Reading Oasis is a safe and positive environment that encourages children to give reading a go.

Volunteers read a chapter of a book to a group of 8 Children in a single group while they listen, before breaking into smaller groups and encouraging and assisting them to try to read and get excited about the stories.

The Reading Oasis is every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday and operates between 11am and finishes at 12.30pm.

If you're able to Volunteer just one of these days or all of them, we would love to hear from you!

If you have a passion for reading. Love reading to children. And/or want to help others, then this is the role for you!
